Help!!
im trying to get a present for my boyfriend for his birthday and hes a huge grateful dead fan so I figure I would add to his collection (hes really into collecting band stuff, you should see what he has for iron maiden, his favorite band, hah! We have like an entire room dedicated to it in our apartment) but I don’t really know what a hardcore grateful dead fan would like… I was thinking about getting him this: GRATEFUL DEAD
(the grey one..)
What do you guys think… would you want it?

i posted this on here before, but there is a guy who makes miniature guitars, he has two of jerry's guitars replicated. they are usually about 20$.
the guy who makes them is in Sacramento, ca area. i can look up his info if you are interested.
but honestly when it comes to my birthday i alwasy tell my wife there are B's which satisfy my needs...
Ok...I just spit beer all over my laptop when that gong loaded and popped up........Sorry Ma'm we are all pranksters at heart, we mean no harm, its a recent inside joke.. That gong has nothing to do with the dead other than the wood hanger looks like Bob Weir's current mustache. Your boy friend would be very confused by that gift.
Does your boyfriend play guitar in a serious manner? If he does then gear for his guitar is always a grateful gift, otherwise the Jerry Garcia Band Bay Area album that came out is awesome. Also, the new movie Red white and indigo is going to be on DVD soon... maybe a pre-ordered copy of that. That would make me giddy. That Tee shirt is sweet, you won't get a bad reaction with that!!!
Peace sister, Jboy
I don't understand how you could have a room full of iron maiden memorabilia and be really into the grateful dead at the same time, in the same incarnation on the same planet, but I suppose I just suffer from a very narrow mind.
But god bless a girlfriend who lives with an entire room full of any sort of stuff.
OK maybe that was on the mean side, so here is a gift idea: I would suggest the SYF pint glasses...
I was kinda thinking the same thing about the Maiden/Dead combination. Very unusual, but hey there's lots of unusual things about being a head and everything that goes with it.

You know I was once told by an alleged Dead Head that you could not be into Yes AND The Dead.

Holy cannoli, Batman! The description on that ebay gong was a fantastic piece of work. I giggled repeatedly.
Serious advice though: shirts are peeerty easy to come by. And they're just shirts. If you want to get him something really cool- just do a search for Grateful Dead memorabilia. You can find just about anything with a stealie or a bear on it- from incense burners to the aforementioned pint glass. If he's a fan- he won't really care what it is just as long as it's Dead related.

I know tons of heads who don't like other jambands and tons of head who are also metalheads.
A cool gift, IMO, is a GD 45 and just toss it in a small frame. I've got a few and they look really cool!
