American Beauty builds upon its previous notoriety as Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue with new additions on drums and keyboards, Andy Sweetser and Stef Briggs. The other three veterans of the previous band include Rob Eaton, of Dark Star Orchestra fame, on rhythm guitar and vocals, Dave Kochmann on lead guitar and vocals, and Jim Allard on bass and vocals.

The band is building its reputation largely by focusing primarily on the '70s era of Grateful Dead music, which is generally regarded by fans as their "Golden Era".

I'll see you at Quixotes. One night at least!

I used to play with Steph and her husband Charlie in a Dead band in CO back in the 90's - when Quixotes first opened.

So cool to see that she's doing gigs like this. She's a great person and a phenomenal keyboard player - and singer!

thats cool Mike......to close the circle even more, Dave Kochmann was an original member of Shakedown in CT in the late 80's......pretty small world we move around in, huh?

Jeff, you know Dave played with a band called Shakedown here in CO as well. Small small world! In Colorado, we're really fortunate to have a few Jerry players but since I moved here back in 99, I'd have to say Dave is one of the very best I've seen. He played in a band called Dead Zone which focused on early Dead and he stole my mind more than a few times! If any RUKINDERs are looking to head to these shows, post here. I'm definitely in for Saturday night, 5/8, at Quixotes. Hmmm, 5/8. Could be a good one?

Saturday the 8th at Quixotes is a semi-private benefit for breast cancer. Not sure about prices and crowds, etc....

My guess is that Friday would be a better night for just seeing a show...

If we can get a babysitter, I'll be there. Jessica turns 30 on the 12th, so that would be a great birthday present for her, in addition to jewelry, of course!

We created our own setlist for Saturday as it was a benefit for March of Dimes. Sorry I didnt get a chance to say hi on Friday, but was happy to see you there! Had my new Weber Neomags in the Twin that night (only a few hours on them)and spent a good chunk of time trying to get them dialed in (which can be frustrating). Saturday I think I had a better handle on it.
