Diminished chords?

I'm trying to play, "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison. The tab I have has an F#dim and a G#dim. How do you play a diminished chord?

If there are theorists that would like to chime in and explain the hows/whys/wherefores of a diminished chord, that would be great too.

Thanks.

root, flat 3rd, flat 5th, and (usually) double-flat 7th

1, flat 3, flat 5. Technically, the 7th is not involved.

Here is a good site:
http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/chord_name.php

(ps do yourself a favor and check out dim7s. they repeat every 4 frets)

That site is great, I tend to use their jam thingy quite a lot for scale practise, shame the speed only goes up to 200...

Excellent site, thanks. That answered my question and more.
