I like, what looks like, a beer can under the boogie as a wedge. Do you think the speaker was still being used or was it tipped so dude could fiddle with it easier. There is a guitar cab right next to it, so go figure.

It's in the gear book. Stage shot w/ Weir's rig in the centre. Not for nothing, but you could just take my word for it. Making up a story about something just north of noteworthy really isn't my style and a visual really isn't going to lend anymore creedence to the discussion.

Shots from both 10/9/76 and 9/28/75 are featured on the Dead's website in the photo archives.

I'm not questioning the claim. I just wanted instant gratification! Believe it or not, I don't own the gear book.

Yes - I've seen pics of Weir playing Boogie -> MC2300. IIRC, that would be '75-'77. I think the Englishtown pic shows the AD230 on top of the Boogie. I just don't recall the seeing the Phase 100 - I'll dig up those pics and look real hard.

'75: GG Park, he plays a MusicMan HD130 head, with a strange cabinet I haven't seen ID'ed- possibly an Acoustic cab?

'76: the Mark I combo> MC2300 (just like Garcia used up 10/3/76), not sure when Weir switched to the...

'77: a Mark II head> MC2300... through the end of the year, not sure when he switched to the Peavey seen in the summer '78 pics.

'75 GGP: I'm not sure what the HD130 is sitting in, however, just to the left is a stack of 15" cabs and then a stack of 12" cabs. It's hard to tell which are Bob's vs. Jerry's speakers, however, I suspect the 15's are Bob's. Between Weir's HD130 and the drum riser seem to be 1 or 2 MC2300's?

btw...I recently played through a 15" JBL D130F and it was great - just like Weir's Blues for Allah sound.

The HD130 sits atop what appear to be two 2x12's with narrow red grills, nameplate cannot be made out... wait, yes it looks just like this Cerwin-Vega logo from the 70's:


The power amps to the drum riser side do not look like Macs. What's up with those blue and red button switches?

The stack of Alembic 1x15 cabs are probably for bass, piano and kick.

Jerry has four 2x12's, stacked on either side of his Mesa/Mac rig.

Question regarding those 15" cabs. Notice how the speakers are right-aligned as opposed to centered in the cab? Anyone know why?

I wish I could post pics so everyone could see what we're talking about...
