I have been watching this sale for a few days. It is a local pick-up in Orleans, Mass. I AM IN FL! Lots of good that does me. If there is anyone around there that is interested in a nice looking (but needs some work) custom guitar, there is about 40 minutes left and it is only at $100. There is no reserve. It is interesting- it reminds me of a late 70's Yamaha.

Well... it finished at $157. Amazing. It was a pro guitar. The listing says it was played by Reba McIntire's guitarist.

I left work with a bid of $155-top bid with like 10 minutes left! I have a friend in the Cape I was gonna call, came in this morning and I lost. Oh well, I want a strat anyway, I have 2 hippy sandwiches, well one really.

Bummer, man. Would have been a cool pickup for a hundred and a half. Trust me, if I had a way of getting it, I would have been in the bidding. I just happened to see it when I was scanning for deals and put in my Watch list to see how high it got. I was floored when there was three hours left and no bids. That Pickup Only really killed it for the seller. Anyway, it got down to 45 minutes and I knew there were quite a few of you all that in and around N.E. so it was worth a shout to any and all that might be inclined to bid and pickup.

Thanks Brutus, It would have been a hassle for me to get, but for what I bid I knew it would be worth it, I think the person who won would have gone too high for me, If I lived on the Cape I would have gone up to $300 at least.
I have never heard of that builder but I will keep an eye out and do some research.

I did some research, myself, when I starting watching it. I am not sure if he is a part-time luthier and full-time photo-journalist, vice versa, or neither. But I found a link to some pics of his work. On the page I think I just backed out a directory or two and came to another page that contained biographical info. Let me see if I can dig it up again.

Here is what I found:

http://mysite.verizon.net/vze33vky/guitars.html

Just remove the guitars.html from URL and go to his root directory and it is the homepage with biographical links. He doesn't really say much about his luthiery. Maybe he did that in another lifetime... very interesting, though.
