Yeah great show last night. The sound sucked on the ground floor! I'll never make that mistake again at the Tabernacle. Went up to the balcony for the second set and it sounded phenomenal. Bummed out I missed the first few tunes because the line to get in wrapped around the block. Oh well, I guess I'll have to hear it on the archive once it gets up.

Overall, a great show. There were some hiccups and at times it seemed like JK and Phil were out of sync but also at times they sounded better than any Dead-ish effort I've seen since my last show in 1993. Alabama rocked, JK played some nice stuff in this tune. Mama Tried . . . well tried but seemed out of sync. The rest of the set was pretty tight and an excellent jam in Hell in a Bucket. Set 2 seemed like slow ballad practice night which is fine with me. While they averted a near train wreck towards the end of Unbroken Chain, the jam at the end was simply stellar - the best crescendo of the night! I loved JK's take on Magnolia Mountain the Ryan Adams tune. Strawberry Fields was great, Jay Lane really nailed the drum part. Phil was in fine form. Sound wasn't great, vocals were muddy most of the night and instrument balance was iffy. Overall I give this show a B+. I hope I can make another one this tour.

Just got back from Atlanta and Asheville. First shows since 92 and they were GREAT!!!! It is a real treat to see them in such small venues and you have every reason to be excited if you are holding tickets for upcoming shows!
My highlight was first set in Asheville. The - Loser, Bucket, Casey Jones was stellar!

if i keep reading these setlists, work will have to be put on hold for a month or so. i can't afford that, and i can't afford to not know what they're playin'. i guess it's time to fill the gas tank. "honey, i'm going for a gallon of milk, i'll be right back".

lol - like I said at times it was a little weird to have someone that sang and played that much like Jerry on stage with Bobby and Phil . . . but it worked. They're playing really well and I had a great time and I tend to be pretty picky about what I like and don't. I wish things weren't so crazy at work or I'd be right there with you. ENJOY!
