Swapping out stock speaker w/ JBL in Fender BluesDelxReissue

Debating a speaker swap in my Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue amp...Stock speaker is an 8 ohm, 12" Eminence "made exclusively for Fender" which seems to breakup a bit too early. With only 40 watts of "screaming all-tube power" would a JBL D,E,K 120 work well or are there other more suitable options??
Thanks.

I was wondering this same thing, basicly the speakers in this thing are crap. They sound like a crumpled peice of paper with a magnet attached

I'd try it but be sure you know you that the speaker is the problem and not the amp design or tube.

Follow-up...I took the plunge on a well-priced E120 and popped it in...the much wider magnet just cleared on depth and width. Overall tone/sound greatly improved...but the MoFo weighs a ton!!

Definitely. I think the K will fit easier too. Let me know how the K sounds. You'll need longer screws to mount it since the frame is much wider than the stock speaker. I got 1.5" and they're a bit too long...they're pushing into the speaker cloth.
