How cool is that? You're building quite the user list, Brad. Can you share how you got it in his hands?

I got word that he was using the Digi Eleven and I really thought the SGBB would help it. Mark Karan hooked us up.

He borrowed our other guit player's rig for an east coast Puddleduck tour just before he got sick and I thought he'd been using Two-Rock/65 stuff (with the occasional Vox/Fender/Plexi) through Tone Tubbies ever since. He's an amazing guy on an ultimate Tone Quest; would love to know if he's playing your gear!

Congratulations your client list is getting more impressive by the day. It must be very gratifying.
I happen to strongly agree with the premise behind the SGBB in which you are facillitating the mojo that happens when guitar pickups see a tube first in the chain.
My question is I have had (what I believe to be at least) a similar device in my chain for many years (although I flipped it fairly recently) and even though I will probably end up with yours without a doubt as the replacement, I am looking for a reference point from my past experience.

The device I am referencing is an SIB Fat Drive. Are you familiar with this device? Since I am familiar with the sound and setup of this device I was wondering if you could compare and contrast the SGBB with the FatDrive.

I'm waiting to hear back from Mark Karan to see what he's doing with it lately. I only got his initial report where he had A/B'd it with and without and he liked what he was hearing. He also commented on the sweet top end that he could dial in with the vari-z knob. He said he had to really check it out cranked up, but his first reports were very positive. I'll chime back in when I learn more.

I've been a fan of the SIB stuff. I had an Echodrive for a while and really liked it. The Fatdrive is a real nice tube booster/EQ pedal. It's really flexible and very musical. The SGBB is unity gain, very quiet, and has no EQ or voicing in it. It's pretty much flat from about 8Hz to over 200kHz. The Echodrive is kind of a different animal, but surely offers that nice tubey mojo.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the Weir camp to learn more exactly how his rig is all wired up and exactly where the SGBB is wired in to the chain. I'll also report back with that info.

And Pete, man you're an original Black Box guy from the very early days of its inception as a pedal steel buffer. Thanks for trusting it so early on.
