I was restringing my guitar and as I loosened the last two strings the nut began to move. What should I use to reattach it, or should I take it into the shop?

My understanding is that the pros use regular superglue. The strings do most of the holding.

DO NOT! use Superglue.

The "pros" use a glue that easily can be unglued or tapped off again. You don't want anything that can't easily be removed. You don't want any glue that's going to potentially take neck/fretboard wood off with it next time its removed.

Plain old elmers glue is fine.

Use a very thin coat, replace nut, wipe excess off, and put the strings back on befor it dries.

Interestingly, this is exactly why I was told to use Superglue.

Everyone knows you use CrazyGlue when attacking a Nut... It's kryptonite to psycho's!
