Anyone have experience with the Fender Concert amp (1x12")?

I remember the lead guitarist/pedal steel from the David Nelson Band used one back around '97. It sounded really good with his Strat. Nice full tone. I believe it had a factory effects loop and he was using some kind of digital reverb. Sounded great. I believe he had a JBL E120 in it as well. I've heard that particular effects loop was a very good design.

That would be Barry Sless, who now uses a Two Rock 100.

There are several different Concerts, from the brownface early 60's, to the early-mid 80's Rivera-era (w/ BF-styling)... which one are we talking about? They are all pretty great amps, afaik. Kadlecik use to have the Rivera one, this is going back to early Hairball Willy (early 90's), before he got the red-knob Super 60.

I believe it was a silver face 70's version with a built in effects loop (from the factory).

Thanks,

I've had one from the Rivera era for about 25 years...mine is the head. These amps have great reputations and are hand wired point to point so good for doing mods. They are heavy, have a huge transformer, and loud. I like mine best for cleans...not so crazy about the overdrive channel.

Main complaints I have heard are about the speakers in the combo versions...most recommend replacing them. There is a huge thread on the Gear Page about mding these amps.

Lee Jackson offers a mod kit and a DVD showing you how to do it. I did nome of those mods and a cap job and it was not hard.
