just wondering what kind of polish everyone uses on their Nitro finish. When i got my guitar from Resurrection back in 03 tim said he would use spit and elbow grease claming most polishes are not suitable for nitro finishes.
Thanks

I like Gibson Pump Polish. It works good. It has a touch of nitro in it too. Follow the directions. You can put coat after coat on thru the years, it doesn't build up or get cloudy. Just make sure you rub in all the spray, don't leave any unattended droplets on the finish.

Another key is to not over do it with the polishing - a guitar doesn't need to be polished every week or really every month. Any polish with wax in it will leave some build up - though the Gibson polish seems better than most and is meant for nitro-cellulose finishes (that's all we used at the music store I managed). I only polish mine about 2 or 3 times a year - though I am not a freak about a perfect looking finish.

The old aerosol polish they made was the best but awful for the environment - a dirty guitar is better than an unlivable planet :)
