incredible show? anyone know where i can get a copy to brun to cd, all i can find is video on youtube.. i would be so thankful to anyone who can point me in the right direction! such a sick show

I too am looking for JGB boards (before 1981 esp.). I just don't want to cough up the dough for the "pure Jerry" series. Someone is cashing in on him there. I have many many many Dead boards to trade plus a pretty impressive rock music collection aside from Dead stuff to trade. I know one of you has all of the pure Jerry series...sharing is love...come on now...you know you want it...Jerry would want you to rip them on to a thumb drive and mail it to me then he would want me to fill it up with music that you want.
Anyone?...Bueller?...Bueller?

before 1981??!?! 81 is absolutely phenomenal for JGB. November in particular.

Love the may/june '83 JGB east coast swing. The Cape Cod show especially as well as the 2 Hartford shows at the Bushnell are tremendous.

Also, to the poster above, you are doing yourself a huge disservice if you are limiting your desire to just "boards" Many JGB boards from the late 70's early 80's era are vastly inferior to the best auds out there. Do yourself a favor and listen to some of the Jerry Moore JGB auds from that period, you will not be disappointed!

I personally think this is generally true of Grateful Dead shows as well. I'd much rather have a good, clean FOB audience than a flat, sterile SBD. I need to hear how the crowd is reacting to the show. So much more exciting to hear!

Boards are good for clearly disecting the playing though (what everyone is doing).

Agree about your overall premise of Boards vs. Auds, but have a slight issue on a specific level of JGB vs. The Dead.
There are many Dead boards that are excellent and pristine, especially during Betty's days recording. They were mixed seprately from the FOH for the sole interest of recording. And yes, they are excellent for dissecting tunes.

Many JGB boards (obviously there are exceptions), especially earlier ones, are not that great and are actually fairly terrible for dissecting tunes. This is because they are just Boards taken from the FOH mix in smaller rooms and theaters where Jer's prodigious stage volume limited the amount of guitar put through the FOH mix. Thus you end up with a board tape that is vocal heavy and guitar light. I have some JGB boards where there is almost NO guitar at all! Obviously this is different later on in the 90's when Jer was playing hockey sheds, but the poster is asking about a time period (pre 81) where there are some fairly anemic boards compared to the auds.Even for the purpose of song dissection.
JMHO.............other people may feel differently.

Regarding the Pure Jerry Series... I recently purchased Let It Rock a show from 75 w/Nicky Hopkins on piano John Kahn on bass and Ron Tutt on drums. I don't know if it is a Pure Jerry issue or not bot it was compiled and released by Garcia's kids and his older brother Tiff. Did not see Koons' name anywhere which is a good thing.
