My Tiger is not even finished and I am planning my next build. I want an SG but my contempt for all things Gibson means I will get 5 times the SG I could get from Gibson for 20% the cost. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LUTHIER! GET A BETTER GUITAR FOR LESS MONEY FROM SOMEONE WHO CARES!
I am contemplating pickups and was wondering how do you select one without buying and trying them out in your axe? How do you trust the sounds that they give in demos online? Check this out...

I think these are the kind I want. That "Stormy Monday" tone is exactly what I am looking for. Anyone tried these out? How about that brand WCR?

i have two sets of WCR p/us and cannot speak highly enough anout them. Pricey, yes. True and real HB tones and quality build, absolutely! I have a Peter Green set in an 01 LP Standard and they are great. The out of phase sounds are a specific niche, but nice to have if you enjoy early Mac. The other set i have are the Fillmores, in an R7 Gold top. They have great clarity and immense power. Does take you back to that late 60's/early 70's sounds that Duane, Eric et al were putting out there. It took me a little while to get the height adjustment and pole adjustment to where i wanted it, but after that it has been nothing but great. I reallize i am in the vast minority here, but i can get great GD tones using the R7 into a good clean American sounding Amp, no it is not the "Dimarzio tone", but can certainly pass as a great early GD type of sound. Check em out!

Peace,
AC
