Dudes I could bankrupt myself for years looking for and buying Mutron Phazers and Hardtruckers Cabs, Alembric Copies and MXR distortion boxes, preamp post amp, FX loops and on and on. I wish i had unlimited funds, never worse then before i saw this site, this sight is AWSOME, don't get me wrong.....But the longing I have for these "THINGS" we are sweet talking about all day is drving me nutz, especially when really the sound came from the J-mans Gut, he could play a catgut broomstick and it would make your face melt......Now that that is out of my mind is there a computer program, for free ofcourse, that I could use to hook my guitar up to and try to imitate all this gear i will never have? I know there is but just wanted to see if anyone has used such and could pass along some tips or advice. I know I will never pet the tiger, but if you close you eyes.....twist one up tight....and play from the gut I truely believe you can channel the J-Man......

I've used a program called guitar rig that has a lot of these components in it. It is certainly not free however. Also - while it's pretty cool to play around with - it just doesn't cut the mustard. It sounds ok - and it IS fun - but will certainly leave you unfulfilled.
