Bad guitar Wiring?

Yea, so I finally got to play my Vantage after a week of waiting, I have to get used to the scale length being so small, but I like it. the only complaint is the wiring is really weird. It looks like it has a master volume and 2 tone controls, kinda like strat.. But it's actually 2 volume controls and 1 tone control that controls both pickups, it also has the 2 coil switches.

another problem is that the neck pickup can get much louder than the bridge, I put them on the same settings in humbucker and single coil and in both cases the neck pickup was louder.

I looked at the pots and they are both the same amount, 500k. Could it be the pot is going bad? the guitar is almost 3 decades old.

thanks!

Can your hear that each pickup goes to single coil and back to humbucking when switched?

It could possibly be a pot - if you can use a meter you can check the actual resistance on the pot - that would tell you if it's bad.

It could also possibly be the pickup.

Yea, the guitar cuts coils fine. I might just get a tech to rewire it, because I don't like how the tone is always the same.
