Slipknot! bass ideas

Any suggestions or tried and true approaches in terms of basslines for the "whips" (as jdarks calls them) in this one? Is there consensus on what chords are being played during those passages (again differences between here and jdarks). I tend to keep it simple and stick to the roots, but I'd be interested in what others play.
