this response may or may not be of any help..
I like the Y Box method, I use that and a Brian Brown (who I had the pleasure of meeting at the Phish Red Rock's 8/1 show and he is a fantastic guy!!..) TRS cable, spendy but rock solid stuff, from now on I'm getting all my cables from HT and Mr. Brown.

I'll throw you towards Godfrey as well. He also makes this cool box called the HubBub for us folks with Effects Loops on our guitars and it's a wonderfully thought out hub for your pedalboard. His Y-Cable is top notch Belden wire, too. And he's a great guy.
