Sounded good, looked awkward at first, interesting indeed. Anybody know anything about this one?

Cool.

I always thought a Strat would be a good Bob guitar. It offers so many tones and has a whammy bar. But I love Strats, so I'm biased.

Strats are way cool.
Has anyone noticed how Fender is slashing prices (that they ridiculously jacked up earlier this year)?

really? I was so mad when they bumped up the prices in the beginning of the year. What have you noticed come down? Just looking at musiciansfriend, the princeton reverb is back down to $800.

think i heard that it belonged to his brother, and that it was built in either 54 or 64

I thought the Tele was his brother's, and was rumored to be stolen after a private gig at Bohemian Grove?

Yeah, I think it is the tele that was his brother's. This burst strat I've never seen and I've been watching this guy for a lot of years. I think he looks good with it. The Modulus guitars he played in the 90's were strat shaped and fit him well. I'm partial because I play a burst strat ('62 reissue, rosewood neck w/ Fralins) but I also love that 335 that he plays. Never been a fan of the blue guitar. It does appear that he's got to do a lot of switching around now on stage. Between all the knob turning and guitar switching I'm sure he keeps in shape! Go get 'em Bob- keep pulling them out- God knows how many guitars the guy has back in Mill Valley just waiting to come out! Thumbs up from here!

I saw Bob play the Strat (briefly) and his new Gibson L5 (?) last night at the vibes. Quite honestly, all 4 guitars he played sounded somewhat similar - obviously his signal processing & playing technique contribute to most of his sound, although his ES335 & blue Modulus (which he only played on the Ripple encore) are the best. Bob & Ratdog were excellent last night. Great chops. His singing was good too.

the strat tone doesnt fit with ratdog. weir coul dlighten up on the fx too. nails on a chalkboard when he uses that crazy metallic tone and metal slide way up beyond the frets just screeching away. bob weir = weak link in ratdog. how does he forget the words to every song. its because they NEVER practice. only soundcheck

While I've had these same complaints in the past and still do on occasion, Bob and the gang were effin' ON at Innsbrook a couple weeks ago! They were in tip top shape. Vocals were on, music was great! I hope they keep this up for a while!!

Believe me, no one is more critical of Weir than I, however, I must tell you that last night's show was excellent! btw...not a single muffed lyric!
