I was hoping to get some feed back on anyone who plays either or both, does the micro give you all the envelope you need?

Yes I have this smaller version and I think I get a nice '77 Estimated sound out of it.
Good luck

Having owned 4 Mu-Trons, a Q-Tron, and new Micro Q-tron, I can say that the Micro Q-Tron just didn't give me the warmth and proper voicing that I was after. I don't know how the newer Q-Tron+ is, but if they kept the same circuit as the Q-Tron that's been around for a while, then I'd say that's gonna be much better. The real Mu-Tron or Q-Tron circuits operate at higher voltages. The 9v Micro Q, just didn't sound right to me. Not bad, but not quite right.

I believe I have the mini Q, I bought it used and it is whipped, but I like my MXR envelope from the seventies much better.
