Fennario is heading East on June 13th, to the Skellig on Moody St in Waltham. It's a great Irish pub with a big back room, nice big dance floor as well as good tables for listening, and also in a really good location to see a show. It's easy to get to through town from Boston, or from I95/128 or I90 from out of town. I personally live in Waltham and commute to Boston every day and Worcester every Wednesday - it's the most convenient spot in Greater Boston to get around. Plus, parking is free and relatively easy - Waltham gets a lot of income from Moody St so they built a ton of free lots in the area. The biggest is right behind the Skellig, semi attached to the Embassy movie theater. This can fill up on a busy night, so try the big one across the street, or the smaller ones on each side street - you'll find an empty space within a few blocks.

I'd suggest coming early and making a night of it - there are dozens of great restaraunts on Moody St, something for every body. I've copied and pasted a list that I found online, sorted by street address, and added my comments by each.

Moody Street - From north to south
220 ----- Jake's Dixie Roadhouse [Barbecue] # Haven't tried them. I like Bison County too much to go elsewhere for Barbecue. (see below)
----- 227 Margaritas [Mexican] ** Good food, a little heavy on the cheese. Good Margaritas. Can be noisy and busy in there. Best feature is the outdoor seating on the Charles River. http://www.margs.com/
240 ----- The Skellig [Irish] **** Awesome authentic Irish pub food. I personally eat here about every other week or so, which is why I booked the gig here: http://www.theskellig.com
256 ----- Watch City Brewing Company [Brew pub] * Meh. I should like them but I don't. Food is inconsistent, beer is... not terrible. Right next door to the Skellig. http://www.watchcitybrew.com/
----- 265 Asian Grill [Japanese, Korean & Thai] # I haven't tried them but I've heard very good things.
----- 275 Bison County [Barbeque] *** Great Barbecue. Also a nice beer-bar and a good place to watch sports in the front room - or get away from them in the back. Best beer on Moody. http://www.bisoncounty.com/
286 ----- Ponzu [Far east and the rest] # Haven't tried them
288 ----- Tara Restaurant Pizza & More [Pizza/Subs] # Haven't tried them
----- 313 Iguana Cantina [Mexican] ### now defunct - this location is currently a characterless and poorly-run bar that offers pedestrian food.
336 ----- New Mother India [Indian] *****Fantastic indian food. Was reccomended to me by actual Indian people as being the best Indian place they've tried in the US. Really awesome. http://www.newmotherindia.com/
342 ----- Robert's Restaurant and Bar [American] # Haven't tried them
----- 361 Tuscan Grill [Italian] *** Fantastic Italian food, focusing on grilled items, with a constantly updated menu. Nice date place. http://www.tuscangrillwaltham.com/
----- 367 Lizzy's Homemade Ice Cream *** Famous ice cream, plus other dessert items, baked goods, coffee, and sandwiches/salads. A nice place to have a short walk and get dessert after a good meal http://www.lizzysicecream.com/
374 ----- Tom Can Cook [Thai & Chinese] ** Great Asian fusion cuisine - reasonable prices, very casual atmosphere http://www.tomcancookmenu.com/
380 ----- Jewel Of India [Indian] # Haven't tried them
388 ----- Solea [Spanish & South American] **** Great Tapas bar Casual to formal, great for either a date or small group, always a fun time. http://www.solearestaurant.com/home/
----- 457 Hong Kong [Chinese] # Haven't tried them.
458 ----- Bombay Mahal [Indian] # Haven't tried them
464 ----- Wings Express [Barbeque] ## Don't go there unless you're too drunk to remember your own name and they're the only place open.
----- 467 Lincoln Bar [American] (opened October 2005, formerly Frosty's) # Haven't tried them
----- 469 Erawan of Siam [Thai] # Haven't tried them but it looks interesting from the outside
474 ----- Tempo [American] *** Fantastic - American doesn't do this place justice - it's a great place for high-end gourmet dining http://www.tempobistro.com/
----- 475 Little India [Indian] # Haven't tried them
560 ----- Ristorante Gemelli # Haven't tried them
----- 569 Tiki House [Chinese] # Haven't tried them
----- 579 Angelo's House Of Pizza # Haven't tried them
----- 581 Masao Kitchen [Vegetarian] # Haven't tried them
----- 585 Mitierra Foods Inc [Spanish] # Haven't tried them - might be just a bodega?
596 ----- Rendezvous Restaurant & Music Club [American] ### - good lord, the Rendezvous serves food? Yikes.
----- 671 Athens Pizza [Pizza/Subs] # Haven't tried them
----- 679 Dragon Chef [Chinese] # Haven't tried them
714 Franco's Italian Pizzeria [Pizza/Subs] *** This is not on Moody St - not sure why it's listed here. But it's a very good pizza place, right across the Charles and by the train station. (about 3 blocks from the Skellig) http://www.francospizza.biz/
----- 723 Heidi's Restaurant [Diner] # Haven't tried them
----- 881 Burger King [Fast food] ## Why on earth would you eat here with all the other choices around?
934 ----- Moody Street Pizzeria [Pizza/Subs] # Haven't tried them

So if you want a cheap night or a night with a fantastic dinner - come out to see us! And don't forget to check out Playin' Dead in Allston on Friday and DSO at the Cape Cod Melody Tent on Sunday as well, they are both awesome!
