SHIT! That was sooooo dope! The Gorge that is... my first Dead show or really any event of quite that nature (I've seen DSO and some over sick bands, but it was nothing like that). The Gorge is truely a fantastic venue, and the party was nonstop crazy! Even the Doobie Brothers played a dope set, and the Allman's might have out done the Dead in some ways (Derek Trucks, man!).
Beautiful day, insane night, splendid morning! Hell yeah!

So what exactly is "dope".
Please enlighten me to the etiology of the new meaning as I always assumed "dope" to have such negative connotations....
is it just the new versions of "sick"?

"dope" and "sick" are both relatively new (like 20 year old) terms for "tubular"

Wow, the PA looks tiny... Were there deley towers?... was it loud enough up on the lawn?

Yeah there were more speakers. Look in the first photo and you can see some. I was only about 20 yards up from the walkway, on the lawn and it was just right, volume wise. The camera makes it look much farther away than we really were...

I was up on the very top during Drums and the Beast bombs were very palpable.
