So we went to the shoreline Mother's day show. me the Wife all four of our kids (9,7,2 and 4months old).

we made a full day of it hanging in the lot so i brought my ez up tarp my acoustic and some small hand drums. We had to take two cars to fit all of us and all the crap.

well as the boys fulfilled their promise and played well past midnight we didn't get out of the lot until about 2.

we live about an hour to an hour and half east of Mountain View so we got home around 3-3:15.

me being lazy left all the non perishable stuff / non kids in the car and forgot to lock my car.

the wife got up around 9 and found both passenger doors open and my ez up (i have a civic and laid the back seat down and slid it in through the trunk) my guitar (takamine G series acoustic electric) and a small 7inch head conga are all missing.

super bummed as i have had these instruments for a long time and because i live in a super methed out neighborhood i'll most likely never see any of this shit again.. (thankfully they left my 60+$ mizuno glove b/c i need it for coaching little league and i JUST got it for my birthday in april....

well if any of you are in manteca ca and see a takamine with a nice hard plastic case (stealy sticker and a God bless the Grateful dead sticker on the case) and the person playing isnt named josh give me a holler.

That does indeed suck. I have to say though, that as tired as I am usually after a gig or whatever, I simply think of the many people I know who've been ripped off because they left stuff in their car for the night only to find it gone the next day....5hat always motivates me to unpack right then and there.
Karma's a bitch though, and they'll get theirs.

I was at that show too, what a bummer but jeeze, people must be extra careful now with these times.
Do you have homeowners or auto insurance? My homeowners insurance covered one of my guitars stolen from a friends car. Here's some more advice to everyone, if you rent, get renters insurance...it's cheap.
MT, check your local flea markets and pawn shops, music stores, check craig's list and place an ad on CL like you did here. I live in the East Bay, I'll try to keep an eye out for your guitar...

i went down to the local guitar shop, to notify them i got ripped off, i couldn't remember the exact model number of the guitar and he looked up a receipt he had form 2 years ago when he did some work for my guitar.

completely stoked me, the guy can be moody and grumpy most the time, today he went way beyond what i expected as far as help goes. I am spreading the word to all local music and pawn shops and filed the police report 1st thing this morning.

now i just hope i have enough good karma coming my way to get it back in one piece.

im sure you probably already thought of this, but call all the pawn shops near your area as well. Sorry to hear about your loss, I too have had a guitar stolen from me, it feels pretty awful. Hopefully you have another one or one to borrow, nothings worse than being stranded with no fiddle.

Check craigslist too.

Sorry to hear that. Definately check the pawn shops. A guy I used to jam with got a guitar and some other equipment stolen and, sure enough, it ended up at the pawn shop - although in this case the pawn shop notified the cops.

i have been seraching craigslist. no luck nothing form local music shops. i will get by...
