Guitar Magazines?

I was thinking about subscribing to a guitar oriented magazine. Any suggestions as to one that's best geared for a player like myself? That is, someone with a heavy GD influence, who also plays quite a bit of funk, and some good ole rock n roll. The major three magazines I'm aware of are Guitar, Guitar Player, and Guitar World. Anyone subscribe to any of these? Are they any good? Is one any better than the others? I don't want to subscribe to something that's going to be loaded with info about heavy metal and such. I just want to make sure it's geared more toward my interests.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have been subscribed to all three for a while. All of them are pretty heavy metal influenced, but you def. get your taste of funk oldies and what not. A couple months ago they had a little excersise written by jimmy herring. So I mean they are good mags, but they are def. filled with a lot of metal shredder shit.

I too subscribe to all three and my suggestion is to subscribe through ebay where you can get them much much cheaper. Probably afford all three, if you want.

I used to subscribe to all of those years ago. They lean more or less to the shredding side of the spectrum and they do repeat the tab notations often. Once in a great while there will be some gem articles and lessons for GD music. Your best bet is to save your money and utilize the internet...and check the news stands monthly for what you're really interested in. The sites below have plenty of informative articles, tab and lessons:

Don't overlook Acoustic Guitar magazine:

They currently have an extensive survey/lesson on Rev. Gary Davis' style featured on the website. My experience has been that about every third or fourth issue really catches my eye but it almost always has more of interest than its more electric oriented cousins.

I used to subscribe to all of them but found myself spending most of my time with Premier Guitar. I believe the content is far superior to GP and GW, particularly if you are into gear, and the website is very useful. I would definitely recommend Premier Guitar.
