Anyone have an opinion on EMG pick-ups, possibly "select". there are some cheaper guitars out there I am interested in that have them, not sure what model p/u's.

some are good, some are bland. depends on the model. they do make some real high-end stuff!!!

How do they sound to you, with your rig? That's the only measure that matters.

I don't have the guitar, these are older Japanese guitars, I might purchase.

I've used EMG SA's, 85's and 89's. The thing is about these pickups including Bartolini's is without the SPC control you'll never get what your looking for.

i have EMGs on my Schecter Hellraiser sounds very good.....but it all depends on what sound you like.
