Hey all,

It's been a while since i've posted. I've been in Boise, ID for the past 7 months playing in a couple different band's one being a GD Cover band. (Cosmic Family Band) Go check them out if your near there. Terripan Station on Main St. in Boise,ID.

Anyway, I just got back to wisco and am playing some Open Mic's by myself and I'm use to playing witha band. I would like to put together 2 or 3 maybe 4 songs into one LOOONNGG Tune of just Pure GD songs.

Can you guy's give me some hint's the problem I'm having is finding song's that are all in the same key.

Any help would be greatly apprciated.

Your question is a little too broad... Name a few that you sing well, and them maybe we can suggest others that would work well with them.

For starters, a lot of the simpler rocking Bobby tunes are in C, with the cowboy tunes generally in A or D. A lot of Jerry's are in E, G or A. Modulations between keys aren't always a bad thing, either, if tastefully done.

In D I like to go in and out of any of the following
Iko, playing in the band, morning dew, terrapin (ending part only), mama tried, el paso
In E I'm partial to trying combinations of these tunes together in no particular order
He's gone, gdtrfb, stella, st stephen, not fade away, cold rain and snow, ending jam of MNS

The possibilities are endless and certain tunes work well on changing keys, like cold rain and snow you can come out that in D or E and Iko can go into A or D. So iko can take you into franklins tower> into your A tunes like Big river>sugar mags (I just do the A jam into the step up B jam, no singing) > fire on the mountain. From there you could go into sugaree. My favorite part about playing dead tunes is jamming on one and making up a transistion to another. It can go in any direction and on forever or at least until your wife unplugs your amp.
