Theres a first time for everything

So I have acquired some LSD that I plan to take this weekend. I have done other hallucinogens (shrooms and "2CI"), but it will be my first experience with acid and I want to make it a good experience. I plan on starting off, with a Dead show, and see if maybe I can get some music of my own recorded.
Let me make a point of clarification here: I do not condone drug use, drugs are bad, yadayadayada. I dont want this to turn into an ethical discussion of drug use . . . . Im just looking for some shows!
What I want is for you fine people here to recommend me a show to listen to during my first ever LSD Trip.

The 12/6/73 Dark Star should be required listening for your first trip.... I would time it so you're just starting to peak when you start the Dark Star.

When I was at shows and dosed, I always liked to hear the line: "If you get confused, listen to the music play." and it always seemed to carry me back to the band. So, anything with a good Help/Slip/Franklin's. On the other hand, I love to hear horns in w/the boys when "altered", so I would also recommend the NY's show w/Branford --I think it's '90. Not sure the exact date, but that one always works for me! Enjoy and have fun, Dr. Hoffman would be proud!

First acid trip, eh. I know on my first one there was no way I would have been able to operate any equipment, let alone stay still long enough to listen to a show. I wold suggest 12/29/77 or dick's picks 10, super show from start to finish. For trippiness I would suggest Philly 72, the longest Darkstar ever. i can't remember the date off hand, but it gets pretty far out there.

Try to put aside some time to look at some trippy pictures or art and listen to the studio version of Terrapin. Put in on loop, not the whole album, just Terrapin itself.
Doin' just that I have seen shit that will make the hair jump off your arms. In a good way.

Y'know. you really don't need much. Just eating a cracker can be hilarious.

Oh man it's been a long time. I usually liked to be out doors when trippin'. Probably why I didn't really have many hallucinations, just a great feeling of 'oneness' with nature, the sky, sounds trite but - the Universe.

Well I spent 10 years of my life trying to trip out and listen to the Dead as much as possible (and did pretty well....).
My best advice would be: LSD is an amplifier. So, if you having a good time, it will be the best time in the world; a bad time, the worst in the world! So make sure you are in a relaxed situation where there will be no stress.
Secondly, almost all GD will sound *better* on acid; so simply choose whatever music you like most of all. But a flowing jam is probably the best. IMHO the best *of all* is the video from Keseys Farm , 1972, but you may not have that - or may not like 1972 Dead!
I havn't seen acid since about 2005, and the last decent stuff I had was 1997(!), so I can only wish you the best of times

I wish I was with you. GD on acid is, in my mind, as close to paradise as I have ever been.
