I bought a Epiphone Casino about two yrs. ago sight unseen from Musicans Friend. I know I tool a serious risk but did it anyway. I played it through a Fender Bullitt(little ss amp w/ effects) and it never sounded right. Last year I upgraded to a Fender Deluxe Reverb. Now I thought w/ this amp my Epi would soung great. Wrong. It always sounded muffled and too much bass. So into the case it went and I stuck playing my strat and tele. Last month I blew the master tubes on my amp(the jack was only half way in my Tele and when I turned on the amp...POW!) I took it in to be fixed and the guy replaced my tubes. He did not use Fender tubes but something else-Can't remember the name of them but I know they are from Europe. I have the box at my office i will post the name tomorrow. Now this guitar sounds awesome. No muffled sound at all. I can't put it down. My question is can tubes make that much of a difference in the sound of a guitar?
