Early "Slipknot" sighting... '72?

If you go to Track 5 of this Archive link from '72, (labeled "Tuning"), and go to about the 1min & 9sec to ~1:14 mark, I could swear Jerry casually runs the "Whip" section of the "Slipknot" lick.
This pre-dates other early sightings I've heard (rehearsals or other early tid-bits and pieces otherwise).

I dunno... I guess I just found it notably interesting.

You know, I listen to that show pretty frequently, and I've thought I've heard it there also. That whole Berkely run is great though.
Congratulations on the 420th post as well!

Listened to it twice and didn't hear it. At the time range specified, I don't even hear any Jerry at all...? We have the right clip here?

I'm hearing some silence just before ~1:09, Bobby hits a few chucks (like warming up for the BIODTL intro), Jerry is quietly noodling througout in the background from before the 1min mark, then runs that lick right after Bobby hits two chucks (Jer is kinda in the backround) at approx 1:09-1:14.
The new player is automatically loading for me in Archive, so I'm able to drag the ball right to approx 1:05 of Track 5.
Turn it way up and give it few more listens.
It sounds like he is playing it in a lower register.

I hear it, but to me it sounds more like a kids song I can't name, the phrasing is similar to slip, but not the notes ..imho

I hear it. Good call Pete. Definately that string of descending minor arpeggios...

OK, finally heard it that time. You really have to crank it.
And... eh. Kind of. I would flip am99's comment- the notes are similar but the phrasing is not.
You are listening HARD to those tuning segments, Pete! Too cool.

Oh Man, I know this is nutty to hear something so out there and think I recognized it...
But even nuttier... I just tabbed it out!
4 seconds of Jerry noodling in the backround in 1972.
