I hadn't seen that before. It was pretty objective and ineteresting. One comment. There was one guy who pointed to a performance of Loser in Ventura, CA in 1982 as being an indicator of Jerry's artistic demise. I believe the show he was talking about was 7/18. He said the solo was "wrong" and that the crowd still cheered as if just the gesture was enough.

#1, I just listened to that and I have to say, I have heard MUCH worse from Jerry over many different eras. I could not point to that solo and say yeah, why didn't anyone hear the cry for help.

#2, That era gets slammed. The 2nd set of 4/6/82, the entire show of 4/3/82 (specifically the Scarlet->Fire) represents some of the finest Grateful Dead music I have heard. I had the good fortune of being in Norfolk on 4/3.

If you ask me , 1982 was the last great year, nice and mellow, 4 string bass( it took years for Phill to develop his style for the newer bass, and the last great year for Jerry's youthful voice, me love dat '82, and some breakouts too, new songs touch, throwing stones , west la, and DUPREE"S , and Brent really hittiing his stride,

Yes there were great shows and years after,everything seemed to get played faster, and where was Phil?

you know what cracks me up about the documentary (by the way TJ Im looking for that show right now) is that the Koonster talks about how the ties and junk she created are making more money than the "music"

hey koonster, they were the BEST touring band around, I DOUBT the junk you're selling to exploit Jerry's name and make a buck is amounting to what they made touring over 30 years.

The copy I got is sweet - Bob all chimey and clear Jerry with a great sound the whole night.

why is she so bent that irwin sold off the guitars? isn't she doing the same basic thing with jerrys art? slap it on something and sell it.

She's making profit off the name, same thing Irwin did, but at least Irwin OWNED (technically, maybe?) the guitars!!!
