So I was at a bar the other night, and during the band's break, the house music was Shakedown Street, the album (seemed to be playing in a random order).
But anyhow, this got me trying to recall music that played during intermisssion during Dead Shows. I remember hearing a lot of Beatles, Blood on the Tracks, Ella Fizgerald (although this might have been at the end of a show, and if I strain really hard, I might see, i mean hear, something similar to Elvis.

I was wondering if any one can recall any intermission music, other than Phil nad Ned

I don't remember a lick of anything played between sets. It's wierd. I have a few bootlegs of shows I was at in the 80's. Before the taper kills his deck you can hear The Talking Heads blaring over the PA in one. On another from the BCT it's a solo sax improv.

I remember Healy having a mix tape of old rock - Everly Brothers and the like - that he'd play pre-show and during the break, among many other things...

The best ever setbreak jam I can remember was Soldier Field '91.

A half-hearted Crowd Wave had been going on for a little while when James Brown "I Feel Good" begins. Someone must have yelled for Healy to "crank it", because he then boosted the PA to band level, really loud! Not only that, but he grabbed the quad pan joystick and started leading the wave around the stadium as EVERYONE in the place got in on the Wave.

This of course was followed by a monster 2nd set.

I'm going to have too chime in here with my favorite house music AFTER a show...

I seem to recall PF's Piper at the Gates of Dawn was played at some post jerry show I was at...perhaps TOOs in 2002 somewhere.
And I remember hearing Beatle's at at least one show as well. Hard to remember those types of things...

at panic in Kansas city this year they were playing alot of Tom Waits... thought i was gonna get a goin out west...

I was dragged to a 311 show last year at Lakewood Amphitheater...

the closing and set break music was Jack Johnson, which I thought was wierd being that it was a 311 concert....

but anyways back to the thread...

Great one!! Not as classic as Greensleeves, but that def sent me out with a grin at least once or twice.

The best post show tunes I witnessed was in the fall of '87 at The Kaiser, it was the second show of 3 and a good one ( UJB>Playin>Terrapin etc.). They had just encored with Knockin on Heaven's Door and Jerry had the place melting. They finished and put on some Bob Marley and eveyone started dancing, there was so much good energy in that place, people were just feeling it. The lights were on and everyone was dancing and hanging and smiling, we stayed for a few songs and finally took off to get a cold one outside. After about ten or twenty minutes the doors swing open and everybody pours out with a big hoot. I ran into one of my friends a little later and he says, that Sat. Night was sick huh? And I said they didn't play that tonight...Turns out they came back after 20 minutes and played a second encore. Another friend of mine was sitting on the soundboard that night and I guess they had to call limos back after the boys had left because noone was leaving the hall, the energy was that good. True story.

damn dude thats awesome, did they only play one song for the second encore?

1st show Pine Knob in 91 they were playing Sgt. Peppers before the show, not sure what happend after the Stranger opener....

I went to the Academy of Music run in the spring of 72. Seems I remember hearing classical music between sets. I don't know for sure it was so long ago plus many micrograms of sugar cubes.However I do recall these shows as being life-changing experiences!!!
