In Pittsburgh on Nov 1st, Ratdog is playing at the Carnegie Music Hall (actually in Munhall) and theCAUSE is playing at PD's (very close to Munhall) in Pittsburgh....now of course alot of folks are going to go to see Bobby and the boys, and we sure hope when that when the show is out they come on over and continue the party with us.

But I was thinking about the value of our two shows that night and if you getting the most for your hard earned dollars

Ratdog tickets about $65
theCAUSE cover $5
(advantage theCAUSE)

Ratdog time playing tunes about 2 hours
theCAUSE time playing tunes about 3 hours
(advantage theCAUSE)

Having a member of the Grateful Dead
Ratdog 1
theCAUSE 0
(advantage Ratdog)

Number of hi-quality beers available at venue
Ratdog 0
theCAUSE 30+
(advantage theCAUSE)

Chance of hearing a Phish tune
Ratdog none
theCAUSE pretty good
(advantage theCAUSE)

Chance of hearing Corrina
Ratdog decent
theCAUSE none
(advantage theCAUSE)

Chance of seeing a guitarist with a beard
Ratdog yes
theCAUSE none
(advantage Ratdog)

Wishing you were really seeing the Grateful Dead
Ratdog yep
theCAUSE yep
(tie)

Hearing music in one of the best sounding venues
Ratdog should be amazing at the Carnegie
theCAUSE nope (but pretty good for a bar)
(advantage Ratdog)

The chance someone in the band will buy you a beer
Ratdog pretty slim
theCAUSE for sure!!
(advantage theCAUSE)

Final score theCAUSE 6
Ratdog 3

this is only one man's opinion!

I like your tally, a couple of them had me laughing

If I was in the area, I'd love to see y'all play some tunes.

I haven't sung Blue Moon in a long time! I can hear David now...
Bombombombombabombabombombababombababombadangadangdangadingadongdang...
Bluuuuuuuuuuuue Moooooooooooooon....

Jes kiddin' Guido - I knew what you meant. ACTUALLY, Sample is not on the list yet...actually, NOTHING'S on the list yet, as the show is 2 months away. BUT, I GUARANTEE we WILL do a Sample In A Jar IF you show up from New York! But I also guarantee that song, alone, won't be worth the drive.

David - nice list there. Here's a couple more for ya:

Odds of seeing a major CAH-LAM:
RatDog: 100-1
theCAUSE: even
(advantage Rat Dog!)

Getting to the front row and having PLENTY of dancing room:
RatDog: Good luck
theCAUSE: the band will beg you to do so, if necessary
(advantage theCAUSE)

Yelling out a request and having it played:
RatDog: see above
theCAUSE: see Rat Dog
(tie)

Keyboardists posture:
RatDog: sitting
theCAUSE: standing
(advantage RatDog, assuming 5+ beers make their way into theCAUSE's keyboardist)

Sharing a 420 with a band member:
RatDog: Wouldn't that be sweet? Again, good luck.
theCAUSE: Will supply and you will enjoy
(advantage theCAUSE)

STILL a DEAD heat!!!
