Sure.
Mexi Strat or Epi ?Assuming both guitars are in the same shape ?Playable ?
Go with 335.
You have a real Strat.
Now you have a fake Gibson.

I can't give you advice; only opinion. It'll be worth every penny you pay for it!
Anyhow, two very different animals. How much do you want the 335 versus how much you love your Strat? I've played a bunch of Mexican strats and was amazed at how consistently they were built. I'm betting that unless your particular one is somehow truly special, that you could get another one sometime and it would be almost the same as your current one.
Is this a shift for you away from the single coil sound over to the humbucker sound? Everyone likes to try different things.
Have you played the 335 and know that the neck and everything is ok?

Im trading for a tele not a strat. I have played a 335. Ive been wanting a hollowbody for a while now, but i just dont know if im ready to give up my tele. But i could easily get another someday

Make the trade moose.
Like Tennessee said, you already have a real strat, why not add a little variety to your gear?
Just make sure everything is in good shape and youre not getting pushed into a deal
btw did you get the PM I sent you about a review for the magazine

Duh.

My eyes saw "Tele" but my brain read "Strat". Sorry.
FWIW, I think it is good to have as many of the different basic types of guitar that you can.

i would, the epi 335s are sweet, plus you already have a strat which can handle most tele sounds but probly not many 335 sounds

Play one. They are not for everybody.
Also the quality is vastly different between lots.
I have an Epi Dot and absolutely love it!

Really depends on what I'm going for. I'm the Bobby in my band.
Jackson Soloist = late 70s Bobby and main guitar
Parker Fly = 80s Bobby
Dot 335 = 73ish Bobby

I would say if it is a sub $500 Epi you are talking about (I see there are a bunch of DOT models in the $299-399 range), just go by it brand new, and keep the Tele, too.
Maybe put it on a card at GC and take 29.5 days to make sure you really like it.
Which one are you talking about?

Ive got a tabbaco Players Strat..tortise shell pick guard, maple neck, all gold hard ware and I play my Ephiphone Sheraton way more.
Not only is it a gorgeous guitar ,mother of pearl in lay design up the neck into the headstock, it just sounds better and plays better. I looked at the DOT before I got mine and I like it as well. It also has alot of what you want to do with it and what your driving it through.
Hopefully a Fender tube.Good luck.
