Similar to Kenny but different:
F#m C#m A E B C#m A E
F#m in D form off the 4th fret
C#m in A form off the 4th fret
A in D form off the 7th fret
E in A form off the 7th fret
B in D form off the 9th fret
C#m in E form off the 9th fret
A in D form off the 7th fret
E in A form off the 7th fret
Note how I broke it into two parts similar to how it's sung. The first part builds to a higher tone as sung and also on guitar. The second part decends in tone on guitar highlighting the higher tone of the vocals.
It is really easy to play this way and I feel does the vocals great justice by following it at times and highlighting it at times.

oh no, sorry i already know the lead, but thanks for the elaboration, i was just curious to see how many people did it when they played the song, the only time ive heard it used was on "garcia", when i play the lead i like to the last chord, e, and take it up to the 12 fret and strum it a few times up there
