I just won a pair of free tix to see Dylan at SPAC this August. There's a couple of other bands on the bill but the only other one I know off hand is Levon Helm Band.

SPAC is the Saratoga Performing Arts Center..upstate new york in the great place of Saratoga. Race track...cool little city...great girls...great venue to see a show...one of my favorite places to see a show on the east coast...oh anf the lawn tix are always cheap....about 3.5 hours from new york city. I would recommend anyone going up to see a show there its a gorgeuos place.

A great line-up indeed. Steve Earle is fantastic. I've been a big fan of his for a long time but just saw him for the first time at the Egg in the spring. He is the absolute real deal. It's going to be a great show.

Congrats. I saw Dylan back in Feb down here in Mexico City and it rocked. His band is great, and I love him on keys. Have a blast!

I don't wanna rain on anyones parade, because I know you'll have a great time, but Bob Dylan was probably the most disappointing live act I've ever seen. Saw him when he opened for the Dead on the Wave That Flag tour, and It was just a big disappointment. But hey, he may be better this time around. And the rest of the line-up sounds awesome. I'm sure you'll have a blast.

I am from Saratoga and live about fifteen minutes outside of there right now. SPAC is awesome. I hitchhiked the country when i was 20 and saw many amphitheatres and venues. There is of course REd Rocks which is a no brainer, but SPAC is right behind Red Rocks as a venue. Its in the STate park which has all kinds of trails, streams, picnic areas, and a natural whippet post( due to the mineral springs)
Also, I've seen Dylan about fifteen times. Mostly between 1992 and 2000. I am a huge fan, but will admit that in about half of those shows he was bad. My friends and i would play drinking games, guessing what song he was singing!! The other half were some of the most amazing shows ive seen. The year he toured with P & F when Phil had Robben Ford and Little Feat with him,. Bob blew them out of the water. Granted, that was Phil's worst lineup, but Bob was on.
Just my .02

I have been listening to Dylan for at least twenty-five years, but only two weeks ago I saw him for the first time in Trento Italy and I enjoyed every minute of it. The way he plays his songs today may not be exactly the way you remember them from the records, it rocks pretty hard most of the time, but very interesting versions, and his band is fantastic, very tight and compact. Just a no-frills, "I'm here to play" attitude. And he plays a different set each night, lots of people follow him around from gig to gig, much like the Dead community. Next time around I sure will be there again. This show definitely got me "Dylanized", hopefully you' ll be, too.

Man this thread makes me nostalgic. I grew up in Saratoga but recently moved out to Phoenix, to you know . . . . grow up!
And I must have seen about a dozen shows at SPAC and they were all awesome. Best venue Ive ever been to. Such a chill, cool, awesome place for a show.
I highly recommend going there to see anyone.
