There have got to be some more pics of that guitar- he played it during Space for at least a couple of dozen shows.
What I could do is- next time I see him, ask my local friend who actually sold Jerry that black strat any details he remembers about it. This guy is now a national sales rep for a pro audio company and hosts a local GD radio show once a month or so.
You could just use a pic of a black strat

I was thinking the same thing. Then again, wouldn't PL be more likely to have pics of it than we would?

I was thinking that to but who knows.
Dozin is kind of a celebrity in the dead sceen. Hell his site is listed in the back of the "Grateful Dead Gear" book.

Yeah? Well, I'm listed in the
front of
Grateful Dead Gear!

No, we aren't talking about Phil Lesh. His last name is Garfinkle fwiw. Or does he spell it Garfinkel...
Really Chris- Phil G contacted you about the black strat? Or was in response to an inquiry of yours? Phil G. and I have been talking about doing a NRPS tribute side project for a few years now, with him as Marmaduke and me as Nelson. One of these days we'll have our first rehearsal... hoping to snag Pete B on pedal-steel!
