My Strat was stolen last weekend. Please Keep an eye out for her. It was stolen in a college town (Bridgewater) right before finals so she could be just about anywhere now.

Black 2000 Strat with Gold and silver hardware. Gold pickguard. Tan tweed Fender case with red inside.

file a police report and keep an eye on CL for at least the next 6-12 months. Check every day! GL, man.

I did this all 2 days after.....
filed a police report.
Passed out flyers at the college and the club where it was taken.
Hit every music store and pawn shop in a 30 mile radius with a flyer.
Have been watching eBay and friends are watching craiglist amongst other things.

I figure the more I let know about it the better chance of seeing her again.

If there is anything anyone can think of that I missed, please let me know.

Don't be sorry. I appreciate the help! Any ideas are most welcomed. I tried to do everything I could to make the odds a little better.

I did put a "no questions asked" on the flyer I handed out. although seeing someone pay legally or physically is certainly not out of the question to me!

Mike, maybe do a reverse post on Craigs List saying you are looking for such and such a guitar, not the exact thing but close. you never know you may get a call from someone saying i got this guitar that may be what you are looking for,

i actually went looking on Boston's Craiglist a couple days later and found my Reward poster on there. So I answered it to say thanks......................And it was my "Jerry" from my band. Adam had already put it up for me. Unbelieavable to realize you have people looking out for ya like that.

Then I put out bulletins on Myspace with 2 of my bands...the next thing you know dozens of people took up the cause and reposted the bulletin. We play festivals for a Marijuana activist in Maine during the summer and he actually put a thing on his Myspace offering backstage passes for the return of her.

I cannot even tell you the "fuzzies" stuff like that gives ya. Amazing and I am very lucky to have grate friends and even strangers helping me out.

It's awesome and I thank you all for helping out here as well and spreading the word. Every little bit has to make my odds of getting her back better.

and yeah Jed, pissed is not even close man...... Distraught. Had her for 8 years, 500 -600- 700 gigs. Who knows. Crazy.

I do a blog for the band, so as not too have to type the same thing, here is what I wrote about it.

"I've never felt grief over losing an inanimate object before. At least I can't remember any. But then again I've never lost anything so much a part of me like that. I can say it is not fun and this week has sucked. I will spend at least an hour every couple days now searching eBay for it. Others watch Craiglist and other places for me. And as bad as this is for me I have to be careful comparing it to real tragic events when talking to a regular person, to another guitar player it is understood, this is "defiling my mother" area. Certain things you don't mess with. Believe me, just the thought that someone is out there playing it turns my stomach. But alas, I'll move on, hold out hope she comes back to me someday. Meanwhile I do not kid myself and know that I am lucky enough to be able to afford 1, maybe 2 to replace her. "

one guitar player friend scolded me for saying I felt a litle guilty about being so friggin depressed about losing an inaminate object..... He said "are you kidding me!!! they may as well have chopped your fucking arm off!!!"

That sucks. I have had my house broken into and robbed twice, once while I was home. Just had my credit cards stolen last week. Even when it is things that I totally don't care about, like a credit card, it is still depressing and makes me angry at the world that shitty people like that do shitty things. Luckily, no one has yet stolen any of my guitars, but I can see how losing something like that would be so much worse. To lose something you use and every day for so many things other than making music, like releiving the kinds of stress that shitty people doing shitty things to you creates, has to hurt in a very real way. Yes, it's true, other people have bigger problems and losing a relative should be harder on a person than losing a guitar. But, that doesn't mean that what you're feeling right now isn't real or doesn't matter, it is and does.

that was very very nice. I appreciate it very much. That sucks about you gettng robbed. (and while home too??! Jesus) I did have an ex-soundguy who came in and stole something, a small stupid thing, but still, you feel violated no matter what.

Actually, 2 weeks ago my dog of 15 years and 2 months died as well. So I lost my black dog and my black guit in the span of a week! Crazy!

But to show my luck is not all bad (believe me it's not) my buddy took me to the sox game the other night. 4 rows behind home plate for Jon Lester's No hitter.

I hate the Red Sox! Im a Yankee fan, but that must have been awesome. ESPN cut into Lesters final three outs and watching on TV was pretty intense, I could only imagine what it was like live. Anyways, best of luck in finding your guitar.

That's really a drag man. I know how it feels. I had my first electric (a Strat as well) stolen several years ago, and also my first acoustic (an Ovation) stolen previous to that. My heart goes out to you. But hey man look at it this way, losing your dog and your axe like that, there's gotta be a GREAT country song in there somewhere.
