Yeah that sucks.I saw a little blurb in the paper and was thinking "Thats all he gets.. a little blurb ?"
Had eye cancer or something.I think for his whole life;I guess thats why he was blind.
Amazing that he could play that way he did and play so amazing.
He was very gifted.

They just did a whole series of tribute concerts in toronto this past weekend.
He had his eyes removed at 8 months old due to cancer.

Yeah he didnt tour at all I think. He would have been cool to check out.
I get all over the net looking at guitars and stuff.Havent really seen too much on his death.
Thats cool his hometown put that tribute on for him.
Think he had a club there where he played constantly.
Didnt he go in jazz direction sometime ?

I saw him a couple of years back at our street fair here in Eugene for a free show. It was packed and he rocked the streets! I always liked his Hendrix covers and of course, his starring role in Roadhouse!

Yeah...Jeff Healey had amazing talent!
You can chek him out in the movie "Roadhouse" with Patrick Swayze.
Jeff Healey fronts the house band at the Double Duece.
An instant classic now!

Jeff passed away about a month ago from Cancer. He was fighting if for a while. when he was very young he had Eye Cancer ,which took his vision.
Jeff being self taught musician was an avid guitar player as we all know but was a proclaimed self taught trumpeter.
He also had a regular radio show here in Tornoto on 91.1 Jazz FM called "My Kind of Jazz". this was a great show. I listend to it every time it was on.
Jeff also had one of the largest collections of Jazz recordings anywhere.
Jeff also owned a restaurant / club in downtown Toronto called Healeys Roadhouse.
We will miss Jeff!!

I read about this just last night in Guitar Player. I was reading what I thought was just an article and noticed that they started to use a lot of past tense in it. He was... or He had. Then it mentioned his passing and at the end was an address for donations to a charity. Sad. Major talent. Never saw the movie though,,,
