Grateful Dead Music Forum

This is just kind of a random idea, but I thought I would throw it out there, even though would be very hard. What if the bands that have members in this forum all played at some agreed location somehwere for a weekend. Call it Kindfest or something. Just a thought, not saying to do it, just fun to think about.

Cool idea. Likely difficult to pull off though unless it was faily regional/local.

If someone else's band(s) is up for trying to do something like that and they're willing to travel to western pa. or have something in mind within a couple hours of Pittsburgh, it could possibly happen.

Maybe early Fall.....

Why doesn't everyone come up to the Adirondacks in upstate NY. We can rent a campground/ pavillion at Saratoga State Park( where SPAC is). It would be a blast!!!

I'm down for any of the locations. Peak's has got the idea though. That park is awsome, we could throw aq hell of a show. we could donate proceeds to some form of charity, that way we could have a great time and do something for others

Well, my band is in-I think the adirondaks, is that how you spell it, would be great. We should try to develop a committee to organize it. I would be willing to donate some time to putting something like that together.

I would definitely love to play at a festival like that. My buddy has a farm area down here in Georgia if yall wanted to make the trip, I could call him in a few days and see when we could rent it out.

I'm down for the trip. I just have to make sure I don't have school.

ill talk to my buddy about it, but Im sure he would be cool with it. we could jam till the early morning there too, he has hardly any neighbors. we would need some people to cordinate times the bands would go on, giving info to bands and other rukinders, ex. but we might be able to do this. Ill talk to him tomorrow and see if I can work something out...when are you out of school space? I see a michigan hat on your head, are you going to rothbury>

Thats actually a Mizzou hat. I go to Mizzou. But I am indeed going to Rothbury. And I get out of school next week, and go back like August 20th or something. But can work out any date probably.

Are you going to see UM and STS9 for free under the Arch? Yeah i want to go to all good too, but as of right now am the only one out of my friends who wants to go.

Tons of Dead type bands.
Lots of guys here are from up there.
Gonna need a backing band and members.
Might be the easiest route......
Another idea would be to get one band as a back up band and rotate all the guitars in and out.
thecause only has one guitar and keys;they could be a good candidate as a host.
Although I would rather drive to new england than all the way out to Pittsburgh.
