I was wondering what the best live sound vocal mics are out there that everyone uses. I have a great condenser mic i am using for recording and studio stuff, but want a great live vocal mic.

Also, i was wondering what vocal effects the dead used in their live sound...

I really dont know jack squat about mics lol. But from what I hear Shure SM57 i think its called is a good mic for the price. Might be the SM58 not sure. One is vocal the other is for instruments. As for Deads effects I definitely hear some Reverb on here and there. Other than that I wouldnt think they use any effects. Again though, I dont know shit about this stuff. Just figured Id try to help the best I can.

Cool myspace page. I added you as a friend, check out my stuff. The SM58 is the vocal mic and the SM57 is the instrument mic. I can go that route but wanted to know if there is anything better out there.

You can't go wrong with an SM-58, and the 57s can work for vocals too. AKG and Electro-Voice also make good mics. I'd keep the condensers for recording since you have to worry about phantom power which some PA boards might not have.

Yo Blob
Cant go wrong with the SM 57.Good bang for the buck.
Everyone should have a few of these.Essential.
Great for mic'ing cabs and a solid vocal mic, too.
Built like tanks.
Unless you are recording direct (YUCK) you are gonna need to mic a cab sometime.........
Good luck Blobster !
