consciousness is awareness, awareness is enlightenment---- is what this world needs let's see, yapping on a cell phone and going thru a stop sign, that's really being on it, is it any freaking wonder the world is going in the toilet, open up your mind to what is outside your own little freaking bubble, sorry for the social commentary but drugs focus the mind to detail and the self, Jerry should be an abject lesson but he was an artist trying to deal with expression and depression and that's a whole 'nother story, of course there's no accounting for corporate America and hillbillies

Yo Steve, you're right, maybe I took it a little too seriously but it just seems like everyday the amount of WTF's (what the f*#&) get worse. Is there a better message and the vehicle for transporting it than the Grateful Dead and their music? Hippyism still carries a stigma of drugged out deadbeats. Look what happened to the Haight or all the venues on the East Coast that wouldn't host the Dead because of all the craziness. What is really being a 'hippy'? Didn't it come from "being hep' or 'cool', which is another way to say aware. Anything that dulls consciousness dulls awareness. Of course you could argue that acid doesn't dull awareness, but anything that makes you stare at an album cover for an hour is narrowing focus not expanding the mind. Mind blowing, yes! I guess at 4A, I saw that post as another WTF and it rankles that what made the Dead the great metaphor and release was the music which eventually got too mixed up with and associated with drug use. OK, WTF?, it was just a dumb ass photo. Now look what I started. Maybe a path to awareness.

'If you get confused, just listen to the music play.......'
