In 1994, when is was stationed at Cecil Filed Naval base for Marine F-18 hydraulics training, I caught Derek at a bar in Jacksonville, he opened for Greg Allman.

We got the the bar early, and the tour bus was out front. I asked one of the roadies where Greg was and he said he was inside the strip club which was attached to the bar. So I went in, met Greg and talked about our tattoos...with a bunch of strippers hanging on.

Derek Trucks in amazing talent. Just insane. However I don't enjoy watching him live because he shows no emotion whatsoever. Even less then Jimmy Herring with WSP. I believe a lot of live performance is showing that you are really feeling the music. Derek has a stone cold poker face for the whole show. I do enjoy his records though.
