Codetalkers tonight (4/3/08)!

Wondering if any RUKinders will be at the Thunderbird Cafe in Lawrenceville Pa for the CodeTalkers show at 8pm? If so, look me up. I'll be there with Causebass and probably Pappy too. It'd be nice to actually meet folks in person and enjoy the show.
I'll be wearing a purplish dye with a 5 pointed leaf in the middle and drinking Dogfishhead 60 minute IPA.
Scott the bartender can easily point me out as well.

yeh, I'm psyched to see the new bassist and drummer. He's had them for a while but I missed em last time through. This place is small too....so small, we actually play there regularly.
I'm expecting complete and utter sickness.

It was really excellent. They weren't as jazzy as I thought they might be given the change of bass/drumer. I was told Bobby Lee wanted to take the band in a "different direction", but I didn't hear it that way. Same great tasste, even more filling.
His singwriting is simply top-notch and their ability to take even the simpliest melodies/chords and "color them up" and then jam them into oblivion is nearly unmatched.
I also got to party with the band and some friends after the show til close to 3am---made for a rather "difficult" day at work but it was extremely cool to chat with him about his playing and collaborationg with Col Bruce. Those guys are very nice people. They played to a rather sparse crowd but played their brains out and had a great time anyhow. I'm trying to get them to do this festival we're at in June as well.
Also, the soundman (Rick) records and then burns 15 copies of the show for sale immediately after the show---for ten bucks, it was a great deal. I'm still listening to it daily. If you get a chance to see them, do so, you'll be glad you did.

cant wait to see them here in atlanta, glad they are playing well. ill be sure to grab one of those cds after the show as well
