I just got a dvd of Santana and Wayne Shorter, live 1988 at the Montroux Jazz Festival... Santana is a bit off, but wow! Wayne Shorter is amazing. What a brain! If you love improvisation, it's definately worth seeing!

I have that DVD too. Carlos is a bit off, I think that he is a little over rated sometimes. But Shorter is def. on like donkey king. What a great DVD i got it for 5 bucks in Shreivport Louisiana.

sounds like a cool disc, i should try to find a copy. if i had to make an uneducated guess, id say it sounds like santana might be a little out of his element

I'm seeing Santana in St. Louis. I am only going though because Derek Trucks is opening.

I was thinking about getting tickets but its 45 for the balcony seats way up high in the arena. I haven't heard great things about Santanas show in the recent past and I would mainly be going for Trucks. Plus, this falls in the middle of final exams.
Trucks will be around for ages... wish I could have seen the Santana Blues Band back in the day - they were on fire.
