Then, I hate to say it, but all you can do basically, is wait. Oh, you can cruise around pawn shops or whatever but it probably won't show up anytime soon. DO keep a close eye on Craigslist and the stuff might start to pop up. A few years ago, I had my van, amp AND guitar stolen. After daily watchfulness a distinct pic of my guitar pop up 6 MONTHS after the theft, actually PeteB spotted it before I did. With the local P.D., I was able to set-up a sting-purchase in the living room of the thief's girlfriend with the MF raking leaves right outside. Me all "deep cover" and shit! Made the buy, showed the cops that it exactly matched my detailed descrip on the police report, the cops swooped in and I wound up getting the van and amp back too.

Guys, here's another candidate for a sticky topic imho. This is a pretty serious issue that pops up every so often and it would be good to keep everyone's input in one place, imho

It sucks to hear about this sort of thing. Montreal is notoriously bad for break-ins and carjackings. I guess that kind of info doesn't help but seriously, don't leave jack shit in your car when parked on the street in Montreal. In fact, better not to park on the street at all in Monty.

I am in the Montreal area for the next 4 weeks and at a few points over the summer. I don't usually go to pawn shops or anything like that but let me know what I can do to help.

If you find your stuff online I can go check it out in person and confirm the identity of the gear and maybe even the person trying to sell it.

This thread needs some pictures or something to help identify the equipment, it almost seems that this stuff could be unidentifiable due to the amount of people selling Fender 4x10 amps and what not. But on the optimistic side, I did take a look at montreal's craigslist and didn't see anything that caught my attention from the list...

That's a bummer. Pics do help a lot. Man, if you can only find one piece of your gear nail those bastards.

I've been thinking if this ever happened to me for a long time. Tom, what questions beside the make of your guitar did the cops ask for? I guess I should write down all the my stuffs serial numbers. I met with a insurance guy last week and I need to get my gear appraised. How the hell do they put a price on a piece of gear or guitar that's irreplaceable?

I hope you guys recover your gear.
