I just got a Fender American Strat. I like the pickups but i would like somehting less noisy, and a little more bassy, not twangy. Im looking for some pickups that will give it a little more close to a les paul sound. Got any suggestions.

You're teasin' me, right?

The best way to get the Les paul sound is too... buy a LP. It would be hard to get that sound out of a strat. Lots of factors.(set neck vs. bolt on, single coil vs. humbucker. Maybe if you got some 59' resissue PAF's, or the stock pickups in newer gibsonsmyou would get closer. If you are really looking for a fatter tone with more sustain, then the Strat might not be the guitar for you.

Lemme rephrase that. I don't mean a les paul tone, what i mean is a little more of a thicker tone. Should i get some seymour duncan humbuckers for strats, or i was alos looking at some lace sensors. I don't want it to sound like LP, I just want a little bit thicker tone.

It sounds like you might dig Duncan strat-sized HB's in that guitar (btw I didn't see him say anywhere that he wanted to cut the body)... back in the day (circa 1990) Kadlecik turned me on to the JB Jr.'s, of which he mounted three in his Strat-style PRS. That was his guitar for his stints in Hairball Willie, Uncle John's Band(IL), Wingnut, and very early DSO. Anyway, the JB Jr's are medium-output(for an HB- much higher than a strat p/u)and have a very smooth balanced sound, with a slightly rounded but sweet high-end. If you go that route you probably want to make all 3 p/u's of similar output.

So i should get a Symour D HB for each 3 pickups?

I made the mistake of just putting the Pearly Gates in the bridge and not the other two spots,and the pick ups dont match too well.
The out puts arent the same and you can hear the difference....
Also a set would be "matched"...

Will music, do you install them in all three slots?

And are the Samarium cobalt noiseless a little more chunky and bassy than stock pick ups?

fwiw, You might consider just playing your guitar and turning the Bass knob on your amp up.
Yup... turn the Trout knob down a little, and the Bass knob up.
