Hey all

When did alt/country badboy Ryan Adams play with Phil & Friends? I can't seem to find it on the acrhive.

new years '06 in San Fran..... I road tripped it down with some buddies....while Phil was great, I was not impressed with Ryan Adams....I remember him up there jumping around and seemingly trying to grab all this attention, rather than just letting the music speak for itself.....maybe that was just my perception at the time.....I have definitely heard better P&F friends shows though.....

Yeah, Ryan wasn't great with Phil. I do have a dvd of a show they played together where Ryan plays guitar for some dead songs and it's just the two of them in a bar in Colorado. Quality is pretty poor, but it's cool to see.

I just saw him at a beautiful theatre in Salem, Oregon and he put on a great show. Played two full sets, rocked out and it was very good. He came off a bit pretentious when he spoke to the audience, but his songs are a lot of fun. Rumor I heard was that he wanted Phil to play more of his stuff and Phil just laughed him off, so he broke it off. He was a Deadhead from way back.
