Im new but ive been a head since 89. And their a couple things i read on the other post(dead and obama) i would like to sound off about. First off the dead have always been involved in polotics. 2nd whoever said bobby has never played with the current line up minus jackie is way off base. I have about 7 differents shows with bobby playing and singing. 2 of which i have attended. what is going on with all this negative energy?. Have u guys forgotten what this scene is all about. Im so sick of all this. If u think the dead arent men of their word why are u even on here and why do u even have a profile on here? We welcome u anyway and send a big jerry sized hug ure way. What would Jerry Do?

take things in stride...if i was to be upset about something in life, it would have to mean more than what some guys feel about a POSSIBLE presidential candidate

I know I know my brother. It just bothers me. I just dont understand how someone could say how much they love and support the boys by joining a forum such as the fine establishment and in the same paragraph say they dont keep their word. It just throws us into that stereotype of the classic lot kid bs and frankly makes us look bad. It just hurts but I guess i was lookin for somthin built to last too,

Jerry was not anti government. He was anti dictatorship and def not a capitolist if that were true the dead would not have paid their employees better than they paid themselves. Once again proving that if your gonna say things like" Who gives a fuck what jerry would do? Why even come to this forum your destroying what gd family embodies. I do think for my self it was a question. What would jerry do? How would he react to all of this turmoil in this country. He certainly didnt turn his back to the issues in his time. And whoever said that the dead were not men of their word is on the wrong lot. Go to the cheese or phish lot with your tainted ideals. That shit doesnt fly here. We love the boys and dont need ure bs. You obviously sit on your ass while were out here tryin to change shit. In the words of Bob Weir during 2004. If every dead head in fl would have voted this would be a very different country today.

Dude, you need to just chill out. All people are different and thats just that. Some people may care what Jerry would think some wouldnt. Who cares though? At the end of the day, what anyone would want, is whats best for them. So leave it at that. Peace and love trumps all. All except music.

i agree that Jerry was anti-govt, etc... But the world is a different place today then even 1995. I dont personally care what the Dead's involvement in politics was, because you know what,, They we're musicians and prone to bad judgement like everyone m. Today there are issues that need to be brought forward. Issues that this cosmuer machine want to keep under wraps with bullshit stories like Britanny Spears. Anything to keep the stupid, complacent american public in tabloid ectasy.

So i can understand ss getting agitated by the boys involvement. I also things its a very short sighted view of the world to harsh on someone, no matter who they are for voicing their opinions and supporting their candidate.

Ever think maybe since Obama is one who is very concerned about the environment , they jumped on his bandwagon. Theyve been doing rainforest benefits for years, and that ties directly in with global catastrophies.

I dont mean to be a jerk about this but, who is anyone to criticize anyone about their beliefs. I mean the boys have given us so much an no one should bash them about their potical views thats all im sayin. I am finished thats all their is their aint no more.

Of course you are right. Man, everyone has their own views, thats what makes life interesting.

with that point, how can we call out anyone that has an opinion that the Boys sold out to the politics for supporting Obama.

this is what is great about this site and it is in the true spirit of what the dead is about. having your own opinion and respecting others opinion.

we all have the right to say who is right or wrong but taking a hard line and saying that it's pisses you off, well, you have the right to as well

at the end of the day we are all friends here.

the biggest lesson from all this should be that we should not argue about politics or religion on this site for it will only ruffle feathers. we should do it out of respect. '

i was listening to a Jerry interview, somewhere back in 66 and they were talking about vietnam and how pissed he was at what was going on because they could not stock pile guitar strings, symbols and gear that was made of metal because they were MAKING BOMBS!!!!

i can't imagine that the band had similar beleifs on every issue but i am sure as hell going to say that they respected each others view.

We all know that talking politics heated exchanges and disagreements may occur...this current thread for my money is 1000 times more interesting and stimulating than say Bob's wardrobe,jerry's eating habits or wheteher they used drugs...I welcome the diversion!
