I have seen a few threads about Pat Martino here. Just wanted to tell everyone i saw him last night at Birdland in NYC. Sick isnt even the word. i told a friend it was the guitarist's equivalent of post doctorate study in physics, combined with a residency in neurosurgery and phd in philosophy. he is there two more nights, mucho recommendo.

Do you ever check out Les Paul?

I used to see les paul down at fat tuesdays in the village. Not really my taste in music but just had to go see the legend!!
man, all those jazz cats got all my respect. I hope on day I can play like that. I mean, I see people who idolize people like Clapton or Harrison as guitar legends and Im just like, yeah, they are good at what they do . . . but can they do that . . . and most times they cant, man, they just cant.
