Was just watching a interview with Jerry around 1972 and he was talking about all the LP"s he appeared on around this time just from working in the same studio with a lot of other San Franciso musicians. I know he is on a couple of CSN recordings, i was just wondering if anyone else out there knew what other tracks he might be on of other famous artist.

The album Tarkio (1970) by Brewer & Shipley has a few tracks with jerry on pedal steel I believe, including their biggest hit "One Toke Over The Line" of course haha, great song btw

PS but are they from San Francisco? I don't know

Dylan's forgettable album..."Down in the Groove"...Garcia along with Weir add backing vocals to the best song on the album "Silvio" which I'm pretty sure is a Dylan/Hunter composition as well as "Ugliest girl in the world"

I'm reasonably sure that that's JG on PSG on Jefferson Airplane's Volunteers album on the track The Farm

Volunteers is a 1969 album by American psychedelic rock band, Jefferson Airplane. It was controversial at the time because of anti-war messages in the songs.[citation needed] The original title of the album was supposed to be Volunteers of America, but pressure from RCA led to this name being dropped.

This was the sixth album recorded by the group and the first to be wholly recorded in San Francisco, at Wally Heider's then state of the art 16-track studio. Guests included Jerry Garcia on pedal steel guitar, veteran session pianist Nicky Hopkins, future Airplane drummer Joey Covington on percussion, David Crosby, and Stephen Stills. It was one of the earliest 16-track recordings. The back cover of the album shows a picture of the MM-1000 professional 16-track tape recorder built by Ampex Corporation which was used to record the album.

Jerry did some great playing on Sanjay Mishra's Blue Incantation if you dig on the Eastern vibe.

This is a great album! Very different-- Jerry plays things that he never did before or after, which is ashame because it is GOOD.

one of my fav appearances is on a Thomas Dolby album in the nineties, great solo and tone, how he got on it...I don't know, and ofcourse Ornette Coleman's album from the nineties,can't think of the names of either
