Just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year!! be careful tonight, not everyone can handle ingesting substances as well as we can...
i guess when everything is done and said,
there's only one place i really wanna be,
and that my friend, is seeing the grateful dead,

Have a Great New Year, I'm listening to Closing of Winterland, entire show. Then moving on to whatever New year show I'm in the mood for next.

And happy 20th anniversary to the TTNY show, 12/31/87!
Tonight my wife and I will watch, and right at the end, I'll get to see my exactly twenty-years-younger self getting completely down with Jerry, the Boys, and the whole Deadhead nation... if I haven't already told this story to death, I'm the 19-yr old looking guy in the very last crowd close-up during Heaven's Door: long hair, no beard, dark Tshirt, waving my arms around as the shot dissolves with me disappearing into a close-up of Jerry's face.

Happy New Year! I was just thinking about what a mellow NY this is compared to the past ones, where I always knew where I would be. Very often I would leave on Dec. 26th for the long hitchhike down to the Bay area for the shows. I do miss always having someplace to be on the last night of the year. But as some of you pointed out...there are dvd/videos!
